Let’s be honest with ourselves— some things are never worth the splurge, no matter how cute they are or tempting it may be. Lucky for you, I’ve made the mistakes for the both of us (so we don’t have to suffer again), here are three items I’ve officially black-listed from the big spender list:
- Anything White
I’m self aware to admit that I’m a messy bitch. White clothes are basically ticking time bombs. Between pit stains, make up smudges, mystery stains (??), it’s just not worth it. Whites always fades, it yellows, it shows everything. Save your money and go low on your white tees, tanks, and jeans. Trust me.
Some of my favorite low-budget white staples:

2. Sneakers
This might be a hot take, but I don’t believe in expensive sneakers. I love sneakers— I wear them constantly. But they get scuffed, stepped on, dirty, and honestly? I get bored of them fast. There are SO many cute options from Adidas, Nike, New Balance, even Zara, or H&M. Why go for Gucci or Golden Goose when you can look just as cool without dropping $600+.

3. Bathing Suits
I’ve tried. I’ve splurged. I’ve regretted it every single time. Sure, designer swimsuits from Burberry and Pucci are adorable, but they wear out just as fast as the cheaper ones. And because I spent so much money on them, I end up holding on to them past their prime—which definitely isn’t flattering. Moral of the story, spend less, swap more.
