Let’s be real— there’s nothing effortless about looking effortless. But when you start integrating the right habits into your routine, you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to walk out looking like that girl. These are the things I swear by to stay looking chic, confident, and like I have it all together (even if I’m running late, again).
Pick out your outfits at the beginning of the week
I know this sounds ridiculous, but hear me out. On Sundays, I check the weather and my calendar, and I map out all my looks for the week. It saves me from chaos, bad outfit days, and standing in front of my closet in my robe for too long. It also allows me to make sure everything is prepared and ironed beforehand.
Have go to outfits on deck
There are just some outfits that hit every time. When in doubt, go with what works. Being an outfit repeater isn’t a crime, it’s a strategy (if Lizzie McGuire can do it, so can you). Sometimes those looks I’ve planned, don’t turn out quite as cute as I pictured. When that happens, your go-to is your safety net that saves the day.
If you don’t feel good in it, don’t wear it
If you’re asking, “Do I look fat in this?” —even if it’s just in your head—you’re probably not going to feel your best, no matter what anyone says. Confidence is key, and discomfort is the ultimate vibe killer. Same goes for shoes: if you can’t walk in them, it’s not worth it. Fix it before you leave the house.
Have go to jewelry
Your signature ring combo, your favorite hoops, your perfect wrist stack—these things take 5 seconds and instantly make you look like you put in effort. When in doubt, add jewelry.
Stay on top of your maintenance
This isn’t “self-care”— it’s essential. Get your nails done, touch up your hair, get a facial, put on some self-tan. You know the drill. Feel better and look better before even thinking about getting dressed.
Looking good is less about spending forever getting ready and more about being set up for success. When you feel prepared, you naturally look more confident—and that’s the real secret to being attractive. So plan ahead, build your go to’s, and don’t be afraid to rewear what works.
XOXO,
Sam
