Confessions of a Broke Snob

Truth be told, I’m not rich (yet). But when you walk into my house, i promise you, you will be bamboozled. A snob’s space feels elevated, curated, and a little bit superior to the rest… without having to liquidate stocks you don’t have.

Luxury isn’t about square-footage or marble countertops. It’s about the details. The little details that whisper expensive taste even when your checking account is gasping for air.

Here’s how to fake it for now:

Splurge vs. Save (“girl math”)

• Splurge on:

-Blankets that feel luxe. Think cashmere and soft as f*ck

-Serve-ware and glassware. Timeless and forever cool like an investment handbag. You want them to be nice and never get sick of them. Start a lifetime collection.

-Hand soap. Niche, but there’s something about a nicer hand soap that just make life feel a little more special.

• Save on:

-Wall art. Print Pinterest finds and frame them

-Throw pillows. You’re going to want new ones next season anyway.

Pick a color scheme and stick to it

I’m not a design expert, so I won’t get technical, but i do know that entering a house that has a lot going on feels cheap. For example, my house I chose earth tones for the majority of the space, then you’ll find a pop of something bright or a pattern here and there to spice it up.

Control the clutter

Luxury is allergic to chaos. Unfortunately, i am not, but i have cracked the code to pretending i am… let’s call it, “mess management.” Everything needs a home, even if it’s a box or a hidden basket. I also love a tray to put the little things for when there’s no time (or energy) to put them away.

Make it smell good

My favorite thing to hear when someone walks into my house is, “it smells so good in here.” Candles, reed diffusers, and a Pura are the recipe.

Flower power

Are Trader Joe’s flowers the same as roses from a Persian florist? Not technically. Do they look the same once they’re in a vase on your dining table? Absolutely.

Always be guest-ready

Disposable hand towels in the bathroom, snacks on deck, a bar stocked with plenty of cocktail and mocktail options. The Broke Snob motto is: nobody leaves this house hungry, thirsty, or unimpressed.

A Snob Space isn’t about spending more— it’s about being a smart girl. Luxe is just a vibe and now you know how to nail it. You’re welcome.
